If you wish to receive your $4.00 reduction on your dance admission fee, you must show your membership card at the admissions desk With over 200 members on our lists, we cannot possibly remember if you paid your dues. Your membership card is your passport to savings on the dance fee.

While attending the dance, you are requested to wear your name tag. If you leave the building during the dance and plan to return, we have no other way to recognize you have paid your entrance fee. Thanks for your cooperation.

JUST A REMINDER: STEWARDSHIP VOLUNTEERS/DANCE ANGELS ARE NEEDED: Do you ever feel intimidated when entering into a new environment? Many newcomers to our group have expressed that feeling. We offer several unique opportunities to connect with the singles group and with others. You can be a part of the DANCE RESOURCE TEAM, just attend the Planning Meeting on the 1st Monday of the month. We can use one hour of your time, once a month, on the night of the dance. Contact any of our stewardship volunteers/dance angels at any function, if you are willing to help. You can help fold, address and stamp newsletters on the night of the dance starting at approximately 6:00 PM and be a part of the newsletter efforts, Are you a friendly, outgoing person who likes to dance? If you would like to help break the ice for new members, join the hospitality team.

The monthly Friday Fling is a Totally Alcohol-Free Event! If you cannot honor this policy and be alcohol free for 4 hours, your time and money would be better served if you spent 4 hours with Alcoholics Anonymous. Call 499-1443 for additional information. Bottom line—if you need the booze during the Friday Fling, we do not want you!

If you attend the Friday Fling and become aware of some individual who is indulging in the consumption of alcoholic beverages at the dance or in the parking lot, please inform a SFIC Board Member of the problem. That individual will be "escorted" off the premises.

Monthly Friday Fling Dance 7:30-11:00 PM Make plans to attend the Mid-Atlantic Region’s most popular and well-attended, monthly singles dance and fellowship social. Average attendance is in the 150 to 200 range. SINGLE FRIENDS IN CHRIST (SFIC) "FRIDAY FLING" is smoke and alcohol free! The dance is held at the Church of the Ascension Community Center, 4853 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. The entrance is located directly behind the Church with plenty of free parking.

ADMISSION!! $6.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. Free munches and coffee are provided. Sodas $1.00 each. Feel free to attend alone or with a partner. You don’t need to dance in order to enjoy this monthly, singles social event. Approximately 1/4 of attendees are first-timers and approximately 1/4 of those in attendance do not dance. If you are newly single or new to the area, please do not feel intimidated. Hello, yes you! We’re talking to you! If you’re reading this newsletter for the first time and are a little shy, feel awkward stepping into new situations, or are not fully comfortable with your singleness, we need you. Please stop by and visit with us. They’re the ones with the Red and White Plastic Name Badges. If you are a "newcomer," look for the tables near the soda bar. Feel free to sit with the group, exchange telephone numbers, and make a few newly–found friends in one evening.
