With Christ as our cornerstone, we are a faith-based, non-denominational, self-supporting, ecumenical single adults social ministry. We strive to create a warm, safe, friendly and hospitable environment for single adults of all faiths. Single Friends in Christ (SFIC) was formed in 1995 in association with two churches located in Virginia Beach, VA, The Church of the Ascension (Roman Catholic) and St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church.

We are a non-profit organization offering a variety of fellowship opportunities and activities for single adults. These activities range from walks at the beach to potluck dinners. Our main monthly "Activities" are listed in this newsletter. If you have a unique hobby or interest such as bridge, golf, opera, camping, hosting potluck dinners, discussion groups, etc., they are listed in the Shared Interest/Activity Groups. If you would like to host or coordinate a small group to share your talents/interests/blessings, contact Maddy at 474-0775 by the 10th of each month prior to an event that has a scheduled date to ensure inclusion in this newsletter.

Single Friends in Christ sponsors and hosts the Mid-Atlantic Region’s most popular and well attended monthly singles activity our "Friday Fling." This monthly dance is open ONLY to single, separated, divorced or widowed adults, only. The main purpose of this event is to provide a safe, wholesome environment with food, fun and friendly fellowship that is smoke and alcohol free. Admission to the dance is only $6.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. Dance music is by a DJ or a live band. Dress is casual. Our monthly dances are normally held on the last Friday of each month at The Church of the Ascension Community Center, located in the back of the church.
